Kurt Cobain may have grabbed all the headlines but the recent passing of Lee Brilleaux probably meant more to a previous generation weaned on the sawdust and spittle at '70s pub rock. Recorded live in January this year on home turf in Canvey Island, this is the document of the band's Final appearances and a telling celebration of what the name Dr Feelgood was all about - rock hard R&B played straight from the hip. The Brilleaux voice and blowzy harp playing are in remarkably good order throughout, while the set mixes old favourites like "Milk & Alcohol" and "Down At The Doctors" with newer, workmanlike material without deviating from the original script. A little rough and ready, but it’s still a more than suitable epitaph. ***
